Helen Frederick

May 20, 2017 to May 21, 2017

Helen Frederick works primarily in paper, making pulp prints, artists books, paintings and drawings.  Her pieces explore the use of language and media, and are informed by her appreciation of nature, sound and cultural references.

Helen truly defines "local treasure."  In addition to her own work in the paper arts, she has created Pyramid Atlantic arts center, taught widely, collaborated with many artists across disciplines and participated in the growth and support of the arts in the DC area, nationally and internationally  for several decades.

Helen's workshop will focus on papermaking and other paper techniques.

Her lecture will explore her long career, including her recent international travels and collaborations.
