SCW! Spring Craft Weekend

A FABULOUS FOUR DAY CELEBRATION . . . where we explore Craft as Art in many forms and honor Masters in ceramics, fiber, glass, metal and wood.
The weekend kicks off on Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. with a dinner for the Masters of the Medium, Saturday panelists and other guests. This event is by invitation only.
CAUCUS/PATRONS DAY: is Friday, March 27 at 1:45 p.m. The day includes a visit to the home of Lisa Kimball to view her collection of Mexican Folk Art as well as a studio visit with photographer/jeweler, Allan Gerson. The evening will conclude with cocktails and dinner at the Cosmos Club with a talk by cookbook author Joan Nathan, and conductor, Angel Gil-Ordóñez. Tickets are $150. This event is open to Caucus members and SCW Patrons only.
PANEL DISCUSSION:The Decorative in Contemporary Craft discussion is Saturday, March 28 from 10:30 a.m. to Noon in the McEvoy Auditorium of the Smithsonain American Art Museum. The distinguished panel will be moderated by Bruce Metcalf and features Ulysses Dietz, Garth Clark, Judith Schaechter, and Molly Hatch. This event is free and open to the public.
GALA/AUCTIONS: The beautiful Willard Hotel will once again host the Gala, dinner, and live and silent auctions on Saturday, March 28 starting at 6:00 p.m. The presentation of the the Distinguished Service award to Clemmer and David Montague will take place after dinner. Tickets are $350.
AWARDS BRUNCH: The weekend concludes at the Mayflower Hotel on Sunday, March 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where we honor the five Masters of the Medium: Maureen and Michael Banner, Michael James, Silas Kopf, Karen LaMonte, and Richard Shaw. Tickets are $125.
