SCW CAUCUS DAY: Craft Four Ways
March 27, 2015
SCW Caucus Day is a special event for our Caucus Members and Spring Craft Weekend Patrons.
Caucus Day 2015 begins and ends at the world famous Cosmos Club on Embassy Row.
- Leaving our cars at the Cosmos Club we'll start the afternoon exploring Lisa Kimball and John Cooney's extensive private collection of Mexican Folk Art.
- Our second stop is Allan Gerson's lovely Kalorama studio and gallery. Gerson is a photographer who uses his images on silver and precious metals to create jewelry.
Next we'll return to the Cosmos Club for cocktails and dinner.
- Author Joan Nathan will turn our attentions and our palettes to the "Craft of Food." Nathan is the author or ten cookbooks, one of which was named in the ten best cookbooks of 2010 by NPR, Food and Wine and Bon Appetit magazines.
- Angel Gil-Ordóñez, music director of the PostClassical Ensemble, a chamber orchestra which programs thematic and cross disciplinary concerts, will share his insights into the extraordinary Craft of Conducting.
